Going to Old Trafford as a visiting supporter involves a set of decisions that a home fan never has to make. What you wear is one of them, and it is worth thinking through before you are standing outside a ground in a city that is not yours.

Planning the day around the fixture
Which games are worth travelling to is its own question, and it depends as much on the calendar as the opponent.
Midweek fixtures at distance are harder than they look on paper once you account for getting home. Weekend games with an early kick off are the easiest to do as a day trip. And fixtures late in a season carry more weight, which changes the atmosphere considerably and is usually worth the extra effort.
